You even provided the atmospherics: rain, thunder and lightning. Sunny Corinth? Hades more like as we descended into the Caves. Wow! What a brilliant evening. If only all Greek tragedies were like this. Horror, humour, pathos and suspense; and the chanting? Heightened sensation. Sarah’s Medea was about as perfect an interpretation as Imagination could allow. Thank you, thank you!

I came to see Four of Swords perform at Weston's Tropicana on Thursday afternoon; having not fully read the blurb beforehand and having completely forgotten it was half term I was slightly concerned when I arrived and realised I was the only adult unaccompanied by a child. Nevertheless I soldiered on and was rewarded by being completely blown away by the unique brilliance of everything about the experience. I say experience as it was more than a show where you turn up and let the play happen. I was gripped from the very first drum beat to the last note of the haunting chants. Other than a slight dread of being hauled up to perform when Medea pierced me with her eyes during her vision claiming I was a Goddess, (flattered but terrified, that will teach me to sit near the front by myself).
Jason and the Argonauts was brilliantly brought to life, the characters were perfect and immediately engaging. The script was very clever with touches of humour, fabulism and realism. The cast and supporting crew were excellent. The scenery, props and costumes helped create a mythical atmosphere, which enveloped us as we were ushered from one area to the next in search of the Golden Fleece. Brilliant!

This was followed in the evening by a performance of Medea, whose story I was less familiar with, but now I feel compelled to find out more about her. Much heavier themes and darker story, but even more absorbing, I forgot about the rest of the audience around me and I felt as if I was spying on a very realistic domestic, whose theme continues on through the eons, but with slightly less slaughter. Once more all actors were amazing but Medea stole the show; whatever the superlative of amazing is with bells on!

Thank you, Four of Swords, for another enjoyable evening. "Frankenstein" was an impressive production. The clever adaptation and unusual venue made it an exceptional experience. Another great success
